SD Trading update 4th Quarter 2010

Goodbye Roy, Hello Bart

Changes in the top. Roy Blom one of the founders left SD Trading, to go back to the family company which he already managed before, Amstelborgh Borchland. SD Trading is Roy very thankful for his aspiring pionership in the beginning of the company. It not only helped us growing but also gave us a good fundament. We'll keep in close contact with Roy who promised us to be an ambassador for both SD Trading asWasara.

While Roy left, Bart came in. Bart Voorvaart is a serial entrepeneur and gifted merger & aquisition lawyer. The partnership with Bart also meant a step forward in terms of backoffice support and logistics as SD Trading now shares sources with some excisting trading companies. Furthermore Barts extensive knowledge of European trading legislations helps us building our distribution network.

This is a followed exhibition to the very successful exhibition held at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris, 2008. This time it will feature numerous product displays and visual installations, aiming to promote understanding of the Japanese "kansei," or sensibility, found in Japanese design and products, as well as the "monozukuri" spirit behind Japanese manufacturing.

MAD focuses on materials and processes that are embraced by practitioners in the fields of craft, art and design, as well as architecture, fashion, interior design, technology, performing arts, and art and design-driven industries. Through their collections, exhibitions and educational programs, the museum encourages awareness and appreciation of art, craft and design in daily life.
"Eat Drink Art Design" Exhibition:
The show is organized in four parts, "Eat" "Drink" "Art" "Design". WASARA is showcased as functional tableware which is simple yet elegant, eco-friendly and disposable, in the part of the "Eat" display. Trailblazing Tableware from the MAD Collection showcases tableware - cups, plates, silverware, tea sets - that redefine the art of dining. Drawn largely from the museum's collection, the exhibition features 60 aesthetically delectable pieces from beautifully handcrafted mid-century pots, to elegant flatware and goblets, to more conceptual works by artists who use the familiarity of tableware as a frame for contemporary issues.

WASARA at the Biennale 2010 Exhibition in St Etienne
De Muji à Hello Kitty,la culture Japonaise de l'alimentation
The second exhibition will open its doors as a Japanese-style convenience store !
From the refinement of preparation and presentation utensils to the profusion of wrappers and packaging, via the ingenuity of some takeaway dishes or fast home-made meals, this exhibition will be the opportunity to learn about Japanese food design - lying between modernity and tradition, simplicity and kitsch.
This is certainly one startling depiction of Japanese culture!
